Almofadas - Cushions

Estas duas almofadas vão ter um longo caminho pela frente... Elas já são da Benê que mora em Morro de São Paulo/BA, mas estava passando uns dias aqui em SP. Entreguei-as anteontem, num jantar muito agradável que tivemos (ela, Silvia e eu). A Benê é uma feliz proprietária de uma tranquila e aconchegante pousada chamada 'Toca do Tatu'. Segundo a Benê, as almofadas ficarão na sala de TV, quem for lá poderá conferir...

Os nomes dos blocos são Ohio Star e Texas Star Block e fiz na cor preferida dela que é azul.

These cushions will have a long way to go... They already belong to Benê who lives in Morro de São Paulo/Bahia, but she spent a few days here in São Paulo. I handed them to her two days ago when we had a very nice dinner. Benê is a happy owner of a quiet and cozy inn called 'Toca do Tatu'. According to Benê, the cushions will be in the TV room, if you go there you can check it out...
The name of the blocks are Ohio and Texas Star Block and I made them in blue, her favorite color.

Esta é uma carteira que fiz para minha sobrinha. Utilizei um tecido de que gosto muito, tanto pela estampa como pelas cores. O 'Flying Geese' foi feito em foundation, pois achei que era muito pequeno para fazer de outra forma. Para o debrum escolhi um tecido que acho muito versátil, pois a estampa e a cor combinam vários outros.

This is a wallet that I made for my niece. I used a fabric that I love both print and colors. The 'Flying Geese' was sewn on foundation because I thought it was too small to do in another technique. For the binding I've chosen a fabric that I consider very verstile because the print and color match with several other ones.

Eu já tinha feito esta outra carteira para ela, mas minha sobrinha pediu que eu fizesse uma com dois zíperes. Esta aqui foi feita com um paninho liiiiindo que a Hissami me trouxe do Canadá! Agora a espertinha está com duas carteiras!

I had made this wallet with one zipper for her, but my niece asked me to do another one with two zippers. It was made with a gorgeous fabric that Hissami brought me from Canada! Now the little smart girl has two wallets!

Como vocês já sabem, fui para Curitiba no início do mês. Além de ir ao Quilt Show visitei alguns cartões postais da cidade.

Este é o Jardim Botânico, sua estrutura metálica abriga várias espécies da flora brasileira.

As you know, I went to Curitiba earlier this month. Besides going to the Quilt Show I also visited some sights of Curitiba.
This is Jardim Botânico (Botanical Garden), the metallic structure holds several Brazilian botanical species.

Esta é a verdadeira cabana de toras e fica no Bosque do Papa/Memorial Polonês, inaugurado em 1980, logo após a visita do Papa João Paulo II.

This is the real log-cabin and it is located in the Bosque do Papa /Memorial Polonês that was opened in 1980, after the visit of Pope John Paul II.

E aqui é o Mercado Municipal, onde se acha de tudo, frutas, verduras, bebidas, queijos, doces e por fim pode-se tomar um delicioso cafezinho.

And here is Mercado Municipal where you can buy anything, fruits, vegetables, beverages, cheese, sweets, and after all you can take a delicious coffee.

Hoje vou mostrar os meus mais novos tesouros, eles vieram da França e de Portugal. Minha irmã esteve por lá no mês passado e garimpou estas revistas para mim. Vão direto para minha pequena biblioteca.

Today I will show you my newest treasures, they came from France and Portugal. My sister was there last month and bought these magazines for me. They'll go straight to my small library.

Enquanto ela viajava terminei este jogo americano... Pra falar a verdade era um WIP que demorou muito mais do que imaginava para ficar pronto. Enquanto eu estava costurando, ela ficou em dúvida se o debrum verde-oliva combinava com estampa de maçãs... Quando mostrei a ela o trabalho pronto, ela gostou da minha escolha. E já está usando em seu apartamento novo!

While she was travelling I've got finished this tablecloth... In fact it was a WIP that took much more time that I had planned. While I was sewing it she wasn't sure if the apple print would match with green binding... When I showed her the work done, she liked my choice. She is already using it in her new apartment!

Lembram-se do Pincushion Swap de que falei no dia 20.03.2011? Então, este é o alfineteiro que recebi da Antje lá da Alemanha. Ele não é lindo? Foi todo feito à mão! E no pacote vieram também dois pedaços de tecido verde (adoro verde), uma caixa de alfinetes e uma cartinha muito simpática. Adorei tudo!

Do you remember the Pincushion Swap that I told on 03.20.2011? So this is the pincushion that I received from Antje who lives in Germany. Isn't it beautiful? It was entirely handmade. And in the package there was two pieces of green fabric (I love green), a box full of pins and a really nice letter. I loved everything she has sent me.

E este é o alfineteiro que enviei pra Sarah lá dos Estados Unidos. Eu o fiz com suas cores favoritas.

Foi muito bom ter participado desse Pincushion Swap, pois conheci (mesmo que virtualmente) pessoas de diferentes países.

Aqui estão três mug-rugs que fiz para meus três mais novos amiguinhos, Manuela, Luísa e Miguel. Aproveitei que a Páscoa está chegando e fiz uma aplicação de coelho da 'Art to Heart'.

Fico imaginando os meninos tomando um chocolate bem quentinho e comendo um pedaço de bolo de cenoura, cada um com seu mug-rug... Aquela correria toda de manhã...

Espero que as crianças gostem dos mug-rugs e curtam bastante a Páscoa!

Here are three mug-rugs that I made for my three new little friends, Manuela, Luísa and Miguel. As Easter is coming I made a rabbit aplliqué from 'Art to Heart'.

I keep wondering the kids taking a hot chocolate and eating a piece of carrot cake, each one on their mug-rug... All that morning rush...

I hope the children like the mug-rugs and enjoy Easter!

Em outubro conheci Lisboa, Viseu, Ericeira e Sintra. Depois retornei a Gramado/RS, cidade que eu adoro e não canso de visitar.

Em Portugal conheci pessoalmente a Luísa, a Ana Maria e a Joana. Foram dias muito agradáveis, descobri a cultura, a culinária e o artesanato português. Visitei museus e castelos, degustei vinhos e saboreei o típico bacalhau e os deliciosos pastéis de Belém. Não consigo lembrar de todos os nomes dos doces maravilhosos que comi em Portugal, mas posso dizer que foram muitos...

In October I visited Lisbon, Viseu, Ericeira and Sintra. After that I returned to Gramado/RS city that I love and I often visit.

In Portugal I met Luísa, Ana Maria and Joana. Those days were very pleasant, I found out the culture, cuisine and Portuguese handicrafts. I visited museums and castles and tried wine tasted typical codfish and delicious pastries from Belém. I can not remember all the names of the wonderful sweets that I ate in Portugal but I can say that they were quite a lot...

Esta caixa de costura fiz para a Miyoko que fez aniversário no sábado retrasado. Ela gosta de cores alegres e vibrantes, vermelho por exemplo, mas não consegui encontrar um tecido vermelho que eu gostasse. Então resolvi usar um que unisse o meu gosto (que é verde) com o dela, ou seja, verde com vermelho, e o resultado está aí. Ela gostou muito!

I made this sewing box for Miyoko who celebrated her birthday two saturdays ago. She likes bright colors but I couldn't find any red fabric that I liked. So I decided to choose one that matched our tastes it means the print must have green and red, and the result is here. She liked a lot!

Andei fazendo uns organizadores de bolsa também. O primeiro é para mim e o outro ainda está à procura de uma dona... O tecido usado no meu é meio antigo e veio de Houston, o outro veio de Gramado, ambos comprados em festivais de Patchwork.

I've been doing some purse-organizers too. The first one is mine and the other one is looking for an owner... The fabric I used to sew my organizer came from Houston and the second one came from Gramado/RS both of them were bought some years ago in Patchwork festivals.

Hoje vou mostrar um porta-lingerie que fiz seguindo o projeto da Helen do blog Hugs 'n Kisses. Ela disponibilizou, gentilmente, este projeto há quase um ano, mais precisamente em 17/08/2009. Como vocês puderam perceber, demorei um pouquinho pra fazer e outro tanto pra postar...
Agora, o porta-lingerie está com uma amiga que adora viajar, a Silvia. Espero que ela tenha gostado e que o use na nossa próxima viagem.Today I'm going to show you a lingerie-bag that I made following Helen's pattern from Hugs 'n Kisses. Nela vocês podem ver duas coelhinhas. Elas foram feitas por mim também já há algum tempo, acho que uns três anos. Quanto aos carneirinhos, um foi presente da Miyoko e outro da Beth.

On this shelf you can see two little rabbits. I made them some years ago (I guess three years ago). The sheep: one of them was given to me by Miyoko e the other one by Beth.

As bonecas, a primeira foi comprada em Gramado/RS e a outra foi me dada pela Wanilda.

About the dolls: the first one I bought in Gramado/RS and Wanilda gave me the other one.

Às vezes sinto vontade de fazer algo diferente mas não tão diferente assim, já que o material usado é sempre tecido. Para fazer estas caixas utilizei a técnica da cartonagem que consiste em forrar pedaços de papelão com tecido.

Sometimes I feel like doing something different but not so different because the material used is always fabric. These boxes were made from cardboard pieces and covered with fabric.

A primeira fiz para minha amiga Beth e a outra para minha também amiga, Hissami. E isso foi em fevereiro...

The first one I made for my friend Beth and the other one for another friend, Hissami. When I made them it was February...

A caixa de costura da Beth foi feita com uma estampa que contém tudo aquilo que nós gostamos: gatos, carneiros, passarinhos, blocos de patchwork...

Beth's sewing-box was made with a print that represents all that we like: cats, sheep, birds, patchwork blocks...

Já a caixa de costura da Hissami foi feita em tons de roxo e lilás, cores que ela ama de paixão.
Hissami's sewing-box was made with purple and lilac shades. She really loves these colors.

Há algumas semanas tive um encontro muito agradável com a Lúcia, a Neusa e a Nilza. Almoçamos juntas para comemorarmos o aniversário da Neusinha. Para ela fiz este porta-lingerie com fuxicos, botões e corações.

Some weeks ago I had a much pleasant meeting with Lúcia, Neusa and Nilza. We had lunch together and celebrated Neusa's birthday. I've made this lingerie-bag with yo-yos, buttons and heart appliqués for her.

E, aproveitando que a Lúcia estava presente, entreguei a ela o avental que fiz no início de 2009. É para ser usado na sua nova cozinha, aliás, ela nos prometeu um café, estamos aguardando...
A galinha que aparece em cima do avental veio de Monte Verde/MG e é feito de cabaça.

As Lúcia was present I handed her this apron that I sewed in the early 2009. I hope she enjoys it in her new kitchen. By the way she promised us to make coffee... We are waiting for...

The chicken on the apron came from Monte Verde/MG and it is made from calabash.

Cinto lilás – Lilac Belt

Semana passada, fiz este cinto lilás para minha sobrinha. Foi muito rápido e fácil de fazer, escolhi os tecidos que combinavam entre si, cortei-os em retângulos de 10,75 cm por 7,75 cm. Costurei os pedaços, fechei as laterais (já com uma manta fina). Depois foi só colocar a fivela e os ilhoses. Que tal? Gostaram?

Last week I made this lilac belt for my niece. It was pretty quick and easy to make it. I chose some matching fabrics cut them on rectangles measuring 10,75 cm x 7,75 cm. I joined the rectangles, then sewed with a thin batting. After that I just put a buckle and grommets. Did you like it?

Mimos - Gifts

Depois de mais de dois meses longe, cá estou eu novamente! E a primeira coisa que quero mostrar é o mimo que recebi da Ana de Portugal. Participei de uma advinha do blog dela e fui uma das felizes ganhadoras.

Here I am after two months without any posts. First I want to show you the gift given to me by Ana from Portugal. I played a part in an enigma and I was one of the happy winners.
Junto com o mimo ela me enviou estes tecidos lindos. Muito obrigada de novo, Ana. Fiquei muito emocionada ao receber o pacote, pois foi o primeiro mimo que recebi do exterior e além do mais ele atravessou o Atlântico inteiro antes de chegar às minhas mãos. Ainda não decidi o que fazer com os tecidos, mas assim que eu fizer alguma coisa vou postar aqui, me aguardem...

Almofada - Cushion

Esta é a primeira vez que faço uma almofada, no início pensei em fazer em foundation, mas acabei fazendo um bloco tradicional (com técnica do rotary cutting)... O projeto (da Eliana) é de uma bolsa e várias meninas lá do atelier já a fizeram. Foram feitas em diversas cores e estampas, e cada uma delas ficou com uma cara diferente. Como eu estava precisando fazer algo para presentear uma amiga, porém não sabia se ela gostava de bolsas nesse estilo, resolvi fazer uma almofada. Depois veio a dúvida: qual cor? Vermelho, marrom, verde? Escolhi o azul, pois acho que é uma cor “universal”... O que vocês acham?

This is my first cushion, I figured to make it in foundation but eventually I’ve decided to sew it in another technique (rotary cutting)… The original pattern (by Eliana) was a bag and several girls at the atelier made it. They made in several prints and colors and each one had a different look. Since I needed something to give to a friend but I wasn’t sure whether she would like this kind of bag I’ve decided to make a cushion. After that another doubt has come: Which color? Red, brown, green? I’ve chosen blue because I think everybody likes blue…What do you think?

Olhem só para isso! ... Um monte de coisas legais que recebi esta semana das simpáticas Aline e Rosana da loja Retalhos, de Gramado/RS. Fui pra lá no final de abril, visitei a loja e comprei um lindo colar de fuxicos. Elas estavam fazendo uma promoção para o Dia das Mães e as clientes concorriam a uma cesta de brindes - todos esses que vocês estão vendo aí em cima. Quando recebi o e-mail informando que eu fui a ganhadora fiquei muito feliz e quase não acreditei... Quero agradecer as meninas e dizer que adorei tudo!

Look at this! It’s a bundle of goodies that I received this week from Aline and Rosana nice owners of Retalhos, a shop in Gramado/RS. I went there in late April visited the shop and purchased an yo-yo necklace. They were having a Mother’s Day draw and customers could win a basket of gifts – all of them that you can see above. When I read the e-mail reporting that I was the winner I was much happy and almost couldn’t believe… I want to thank Aline and Rosana for the present and to tell them I loved everything!

Quando vi o comentário da minha amiga Cleuza* me cumprimentando pelo aniversário, lembrei que fiquei de mostrar os meus presentes... Aqui estão, foram presentes de amigas muito queridas e gostei muito de todos eles.

When I saw Cleuza’s* comment greeting me about my birthday I’ve remembered that I’ve promised to show you my presents… They were gifts from very dear friends and I liked so much every one.

*Eu não teria conhecido a Cleuza se não fosse o patchwork. Vivemos em cidades tão distantes e exercemos atividades tão distintas que jamais nos encontraríamos... Ainda bem que existem os festivais, feiras, blogs e grupos de patchwork para nos aproximar, não é mesmo Cleuza?
Há uma frase muito famosa entre as quilters no mundo: ‘Life is a patchwork of friends’. Acho-a verdadeira, você não?

Colcha - Sampler Quilt

Ufa, finalmente consegui terminar a minha primeira colcha. Comecei há uns trê anos, fiz quase todos os blocos - com a preciosa ajuda da Eliana - e então parei... Meses depois uni os blocos com entremeios, e aí virou UFO. Retomei agora em março para terminar as bordas, me animei depois de conversar com a minha querida amiga Dany, que agora está quiltando pra nós. Lembram-se que eu disse que iria a Gramado nas minhas férias? Esta minha viagem tinha um propósito: levar minha colcha para ser quiltada pela Dany. Ei-la:

Esta colcha estava prometida para minha sobrinha desde o início.

Assim que retornei fui entregá-la e ela já está usando!
... Ela adorou!

At last I could finish my first quilt. I started it about 3 years ago, I sewed almost all blocks - Eliana helped me - but I abandoned them... Several months later I assembled the blocks with sashing and then it became an UFO. I resumed it in March and finished the borders I was so excited after talking to my dear friend Dany who presently is quilting for us. Do you remember that I told you I was going to Gramado on my vacation? This trip had a purpose: to take my quilt in order to be quilted by Dany. And here it is:

I promised this quilt to my niece since I started it. As soon as I returned I gave it to her and she already put it on her bed.

Estou duplamente feliz! O meu blog teve mais de 3.000 acessos desde setembro/2008!!! Outra razão são as minhas férias... Sim, estou de férias!!! Posso até dizer que estou triplamente feliz, o terceiro motivo foi o meu aniversário!!! Ganhei muuuitos presentes... Ainda não consegui fotografá-los, mas assim que eu voltar da minha viagem a Gramado vou postar aqui para vocês verem.
Por enquanto vejam este par de portacartões. Eles foram feitos para treinar o quilting livre.

I’m doubly happy! This blog had more than 3,000 visits since September/2008!!! Another reason is my vacation… Yes, I am on vacation!!! I can say I’m triply happy - the third reason is my birthday!!! I’ve got a lot of presents … I couldn’t photograph them yet. But as soon as I come back from Gramado I’ll post some photos for you.
For now see these couple of card-keepers. They were made for practicing free motion quilting.

Suculenta em flor - Succulent bloom

Olhem só o que eu achei hoje de manhã no meu jardim! São flores de uma suculenta que eu tenho já faz um tempo. Não sei exatamente o nome dela, mas andei pesquisando na net e achei dois blogs sobre suculentas (“Cactos e Suculentas” e “Plantas Suculentas”). Não consegui chegar a uma conclusão, mas desconfio que seja espécie de Orbea, talvez seja uma caudata... De qualquer forma, ela não é linda?

Look what I found in my garden this morning! They are blooms of a succulent that I have for some time in my house. I don’t know exactly its name but I’ve been searching on the internet and I’ve found two blogs about succulents (“Cactos e Suculentas” e “Plantas Suculentas”). I couldn’t arrive at any conclusions but I guess it is a specimen of Orbea perhaps it can be a caudata … Anyway isn’t it beautiful?

Dia 19 foi aniversário da minha amiga Wanilda, do “Patchwork do Coração”. Parabéns, Wanilda!!!
Enviei este portabordados na segunda-feira (16) esperando que ela recebesse no dia 19... mas só chegou no dia 20 :o((

São aproximadamente 600 km nos separando, então é natural que o correio demore alguns dias para entregar a encomenda. Ela já me escreveu dizendo que gostou do mimo e agora estou esperando que ela nos mostre um bordado dentro dele.
É um projeto que saiu na revista australiana Country Threads, vocês já viram um parecido que eu fiz para a Beth do “Gatos e Panos”, só mudei o bordado.

There are about 600 km separating us so it’s natural the mail takes some days to deliver the pack. She has already written me telling that she liked it. And now she’s expected to show us a stitchery in it.
It’s a pattern published on Country Threads, an Australian magazine. You’ve already seen similar one that I’ve made for Beth (Gatos e Panos), I’ve just changed the stitchery.

O estojo ao lado é o segundo trabalho que faço a partir de retalhos. O anterior era um portaóculos. Não decidi ainda o que colocar dentro dele. Pensei em usá-lo como uma nécessaire, nele cabem batons, perfuminhos, escova de dente etc. Também posso usá-lo para carregar minhas coisinhas de costura, agulhas, tesoura, linhas, botões... E que tal colocar lápis, caneta, borracha para ir à escola?

This case is the second piece that I make from scraps. The previous one was an eyeglass case. I haven’t decided what I’ll put inside it. I thought to use it as a make-up case. This lily was a gift from my husband. It was given to me last night… I’m so happy.

A falenopsis ao lado já está comigo há alguns anos, ela floresce de tempos em tempos e suas flores duram de 2 a 3 meses. Adoro, acho-as lindas.

The phalaenopsis has been in my house for a few years and it blooms from time to time. Its flowers last 2 - 3 months I think it's a lovely orchid. I love it.

Estas tulipas foram feitas por mim, com a ajuda da Eliana nos moldes. Minha irmã havia visto em uma loja e ficou encantada. Ela me encomendou faz uns meses e só agora eu consegui fazê-las. Espero que ela goste.

These tulips were made with templates by Eliana. My sister had seen them in a shop and she was delighted by the tulips. She has ordered me a couple of months ago but just this week I could sew them. I hope she likes them.

3 Aniversários em Fevereiro – 3 Birthdays in February

Como eu disse no post de ontem, andei um tanto quanto ocupada neste mês. Foram 3 aniversários, 3 eventos sociais e 3 mimos a confeccionar. Primeiro foi o da Beth, no começo de Fevereiro. Resolvi fazer um apetrecho para ela guardar e carregar trabalhos em andamento (bordados ou blocos de patch). Sei que ela adora gatos então bordei um ao lado de uma moça bordadeira (seria ela própria ?!?!?!)...Os desenhos são da Anni Downs.

As I told you yesterday in my post I was quite busy this month. There were 3 birthdays, 3 social events and 3 gifts to make. The first one was Beth’s in early February. I decided to make a “case” for her to keep and carry works in progress (stitcheries and patchwork blocks). I know she loves cats so I’ve stitched one of them beside the lady stitching (would she be Beth ?!?!?!)… Stitchery Design by Anni Downs.

O segundo foi da Hissami que adoooora roxos e lilases.

The second one was Hissami’s. She looooves purple and lilac.

O terceiro foi da Fátima. Para ela fiz este conjunto de escritório forrado com tecido trazido do Festival de Houston. Como vocês suspeitam, ela também gosta de verde! Grande amiga!

The third one was Fátima’s. For her I’ve made this desktop stationary items covered with a fabric brought from Houston Quilt Festival. As you can suspect she likes green too! Great friend!

Bolsa de Quadrados

Faz quase um mês que não venho aqui... Estive meio ocupada nas últimas semanas, logo verão a razão, ou melhor, as razões.
No fim do ano passado, eu e Miyoko decidimos fazer esta de bolsa de quadrados. Começamos juntas, com a ajuda da Eliana, mas no meio do caminho tomamos rumos diferentes... Escolhemos os tecidos, cortamos e montamos na aula. Quando chegou a hora de dar forma à bolsa, a Miyoko seguiu o modelo do livro e eu fiz do jeito que a minha sobrinha Gabi queria. Coloquei uns botõezinhos nos tons suaves do tecido e forrei os botões da alça em verde para não perder o hábito. Será que um dia veremos a bolsa da Miyoko no seu blog? Espero que sim.

I haven’t written anything for 3 weeks … I’ve been busy last weeks and soon you’ll see the reason by the way reasons.
At the end of 2008 Miyoko and I have decided to sew this square bag. We started together and Eliana helped us. We chose the fabrics/prints cut and patched the squares in the class but after that we made different choices. At the time of assembling Miyoko followed the book instructions and I made it the way my niece Gabi wanted. I’ve put some little soft color buttons and lined the tab buttons on green (as usual). Some day will we see the Miyoko’s bag in her blog? I hope so.

Retalhos - Scraps

Fiz estes portaóculos (acho que é assim que se escreve depois da reforma ortográfica) a partir de retalhos que tenho guardado ao longo da minha curta vida de artesã do tecido.
A Belém do blog De Ponto em Nó apresenta 5 boas razões para usar retalhos, concordo com ela em tudo.

Costumo guardar os pedacinhos separados por cor em caixas de bombons Ferrero Rocher, assim fica mais fácil na hora de escolher.
Primeiro escolhi as cores. Não sei por que, mas esta combinação (verde/marrom-terra) me persegue, heheh.

I’ve made these eyeglass cases from scraps that I’ve been kept along my short fabric-artisan life.
Belém presents in her blog “De Ponto em Nó” five good reasons to use scraps and I agree with her in every reason.
I use to keep little scraps separated by colors in Ferrero Rocher candy boxes so it’s easy to choose when I decide to sew.

Hoje vou mostrar alguns dos presentinhos que ganhei nestes últimos dias.

O chocolate, eu ganhei da minha amiga Arlete, logo acima está uma novidade (ao menos para mim), é um tecido especial para limpeza de lentes em geral - óculos, binóculos, câmera fotográficas, monitores de computador etc - este mimo foi da Hissami. O carneirinho que na verdade é um cofre ganhei do Elton, com recomendação para poupar em 2009.

Today I’ll show you some of gifts that were given to me last days.

The chocolate was given to me by Arlete, above is a novelty (at least for me) it's a special fabric to clean lenses, eyeglasses, binoculars, computers etc, this gift was from Hissami. The sheep is actually a little safe and I was given with an advice – save money in 2009 – it’s from Elton.

Este panô lindo foi presente da Beth, vejam os bordados, que capricho! A-do-rei! As cores e os tecidos refletem o bom-gosto da minha amiga.

Este vai ser o primeiro panô a ser colocado na minha sala de costura.

This gorgeous wall-hanging is a present from Beth see the care that was stitched. I loved it!
The choice of colors and fabrics are great. It shows her tastefulness.
That will be the first one to be hanged in my sewing-room.

O pano de prato é da minha amiga Fátima. Ela já frequentou as aulas de patch no Country Craft Studio, agora está um pouco afastada mas pretendemos trazê-la de volta.
O crochê que vocês vêem foi feito pela mãe dela, não é uma graça?

The tea towel is from my friend Fátima. She already attended patchwork classes at Country Craft Studio nowadays she doesn’t but we intend to bring her back. The crochet that you see was done by her mom, isn’t it beautiful?

No alto está o da Lúcia, parece uma caixa de bombons mas são sabonetes de cereja, ao lado está uma lata cheinha de hidratantes que ganhei da Nilza, também é dela o estojo preto para maquiagem. Logo abaixo está um sachê bordado pela Beth, e ao lado mais um mimo da Arlete. O tecido verde e o pires com patchwork são da Miyoko.

At the top is the one from Lucia. It looks like a box of candy but it is toilet soap beside there is a can full of moisturizers that I was given from Nilza also the black case is from her. Below is a scented sachet stitched by Beth and beside is another gift from Arlete. The green fabric and the patchwork saucer are from Miyoko.

Este é um trabalho começado e terminado no último sábado. É uma peça simples, rápida e gostosa de fazer. A Beth, a Miyoko, a Arlete, a Hissami, enfim todas já tinham feito pelo menos uma dessas, só estavam faltando eu e a Kátia. Coincidência ou não, chegamos ao atelier determinadas a fazê-la. A nécessaire é uma encomenda da minha irmã, que quer presentear uma amiga chamada Inês. Escolhi um tecido que, na minha opinião, consegue agradar a quase todas.

This is a piece started and finished on last Saturday. It was simple quick and pleasant to make it. Beth, Miyoko, Arlete and Hissami at last everybody already had made one of these, just Kátia and I hadn’t made it yet. Coincidence or not we arrived at the atelier determined to make it. My sister ordered me this makeup bag. She wants to give it to Inês - a friend of hers. I’ve chosen this fabric because in my opinion it can please almost every woman.

Lavanda - Lavender

Adoro o perfume da lavanda e já faz um tempinho que tenho um pé de lavanda na minha casa, mas ela está meio sem vida, então resolvi comprar uma muda nova. A moça que me vendeu disse que eu poderia tentar fazer novas mudas a partir daquela antiga. Resolvi tentar, vamos ver no que vai dar... Daqui a algumas semanas volto para contar como ficou (espero que não morra e que cresça bem).

I love lavender scent and it's been some time that I have a lavender bush in my home but it is sort of colorless so I’ve decided to buy a new seedling. The lady who sold it told me that I can try to make a cutting from the old one. I’ll try… let’s see what will happen…In few weeks I’ll go back to tell you what came about (I hope the cutting grows up and doesn't die).

+ Gramado - Festival

Fomos ao Festival todos os dias (de 15 a 18/10) e a cada dia nos encantávamos com os trabalhos expostos e com os stands. Sempre comprávamos um tecidinho ou outro, não conseguimos resistir um só dia!

We attended to the Festival every day (from October,15 to 18) and each day we were delighted by the quilts exhibited as well as by stands. We would often buy a fat-quarter or more. We couldn't resist one single day.

I've made this wallet to Aceoni - a virtual-friend of mine. I sent it last week and today she e-mailed me telling that she received it and liked it. Today is her birthday, congratulations Aceoni!

Trabalho em dupla - Pair work

Às vezes eu e Beth escolhemos trabalhos iguais para fazer. Esta toalha-de-chá e esta bolsa são exemplos disso. Só há uma diferença: ela sempre termina antes! Eu sempre acabo inventando durante a execução, é um detalhe a mais aqui, um zíper acolá e assim demoro a terminar. Alguns viram WIP e outros UFO. Tomei uma decisão: enquanto não termino um WIP não começo trabalho novo. A toalha ficou pronta na semana passada. A bolsa pretendo terminar no próximo fim-de-semana.

Sometimes Beth and I choose similar pieces to do. This small table-cloth and this bag are some examples. There is only one difference - she always finishes sooner. I often add something extra (one more detail or another zipper) and so it takes me much more time. Some pieces become WIP and others UFO. I've made a decision: while I don't finish a WIP I won't start new projects. The small table-cloth was ready last week and I intend to finish the bag on the next weekend.

Escolhi este trabalho para ser o primeiro post do meu blog porque ele é feito com a minha cor preferida e o bordado traduz a minha paixão, a arte em tecidos e linhas. Levei algumas horas para fazer o patch e alguns meses para terminar o bordado, este definitivamente não é o meu forte.

I have chosen this piece for the first post in my blog because it is made with my favorite color and the stitching translates my passion for fabrics and threads. I spent a few hours to make the patchwork and some months to finish the stitching, definitely I'm not good at stitching.
